Metropolitan fashion 18-19 centuries cinema and artifacts from the funds of private collections of Ukraine

 Grand opening of the Victoria Museum was held on May 30, 2017, in the historical building on Butyshev lane, 23 (formerly A. Ivanova street)

     Victoria Lysenko, as the founder of the museum and the curator of the rst exhibition, cut the red ribbon and announced the opening of the Victoria museum in the presence of special guests — Renée Pfister (Great Britain), Lada Umstetter (Switzerland), prominent Ukrainian museologists and art critics.

     The official welcoming party was hosted on a friendly basis by the well-known TV host Hryhoriy Reshetnik. He recalled how it all started nine months ago with the “Simulator” program in the concrete walls of the empty house, and how the building changed since then. Hryhoriy gave the floor to Victoria’s welcome speech. She thanked everyone for being involved in such an extraordinary event in her life and, she hopes, the life of Kyiv, and assured that she would make every effort to make the museum popular.

     Victoria expressed her gratitude to the generous private collectors, who easily and with trust provided valuable display items to the museum for the period of the exhibition, which was last till mid-August. Among them Oleksiy Sheremetyev(Sheremetiev’s Museum), Vitaliy Dorokhov, Tetiana Dmytrenko, Halyna Kokorina, Victoria Gres.

     The founder of the Victoria Museum also thanked the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design for providing replicas of the historical costumes from the museum of the university. Victoria Lysenko expressed special gratitude to the Museum of History of Ukraine represented by the Director General Tatyana Sosnovska for the great trust in the provision of exhibits from the state museum to private.

     The exhibition also featured the Victoria Museum collection of seven unique costumes from the middle to the end of the 19th century.

      At the opening ceremony, guests were addressed by Renée Pfister, who provided intensive training to Victoria Lysenko in the repositories of the Victoria and Albert Museum, Victoria Lysenko’s personal consultant from the UK, Benita Wakefeld, who has extensive experience in the theater, the director of the museum from Switzerland, Lada Umstetter, spoke about the role of private institutions in the development of culture and museum business, and also expressed admiration for what she saw.

     Congratulatory speeches were made by the director general of the Museum of the History of Ukraine Tetiana Sosnovska, art historian and Ph.D. in technical sciences Halyna Kokorina, Ph.D. in history and book author Oksana Kosmina, art critic Natalia Dmytrenko, who represents collectors Tetiana Dmytrenko and Vitaliy Dorokhov.

    The grand opening was visited by journalists of Inter TV channel and other media, bloggers.

     The atmosphere of the event was rich in communication: comments, interviews, feedback on the museum and exhibition. The guests were actively using the photo zone.

     At the end of the evening, Victoria expressed her gratitude to each of the guests, TV and the press, the company «In Vino» and the team that helped create such a vivid and memorable event, which we are sure will go down in history not only of Kyiv but also of Ukraine.
